Friends of Lyme & Wood Country Park CIC
The Friends of Lyme and Wood Country Park CIC is a volunteer-led community organisation dedicated to maintaining and improving Lyme and Wood Country Park - Merseyside’s second-largest public green space, covering 274 acres between Earlestown and Haydock. Once a colliery and later a landfill site, the park has been transformed through years of community-led conservation into a thriving haven for wildlife, recreation, and education.
Our group’s mission is to preserve and enhance this important greenspace for the benefit and wellbeing of the local community. We currently have around 15 active volunteers who carry out regular park maintenance (litter picking, mowing, and maintaining pathways and entrances), and community engagement activities.
